Model Reports.com is a relatively new company set up in the port of Southampton. They are totally independent and not beholding to any shipping line, auction house, parts supplier or SVA station. This allows them to rent their Model Reports™ at the same price to everyone, no matter who they shipped their car with, who they are converting their car with, or where that car is to be ESVA tested.
The managing director is Kevin Bridges. Kevin is a fully qualified motor vehicle technician, who after serving his apprenticeship at a Bedford main agent went on to work as a vehicle technician for British Telecom where he rose to become a workshop supervisor.
He left BT to begin work for the Vehicle Inspectorate (VI) as a vehicle examiner. With the introduction of the Single Vehicle Approval (SVA) test, Kevin was on the first training course for examiners and as such helped to write the SVA manual. His home station of Yeading in London went on top become the leading SVA test station in the country. After briefly becoming station manager, Kevin was promoted out of the VI into Vehicle Standards and Engineering (VSE) in Marsham Street, London. Whilst with VSE he was responsible for the raising of the maximum weight for goods vehicles to 44 tonnes.
After some time at VSE and a number of trips to the EU in Brussels on official business, Kevin was approached by Park Lane (UK) Ltd to set up and run their model report program. He became the second person in the whole UK to create a model report. He continued to produce reports, becoming the leading producer in the UK.
When Park Lane moved their SVA operation to Southampton, Kevin moved as well. Here he not only assisted James Kaye in making SVA(UK)Ltd the largest and most successful independent SVA station in the country, but continued to increase the number of reports in their catalogue. With the advent of the "disabled loophole" the speed of report production slowed somewhat.
When it was confirmed that the "disabled loophole" was to be closed, Kevin again started to think seriously about model reports. This time he felt that all his efforts should be channelled in this direction. So, with some financial backing, he bought all the reports that he had made and set up Model Reports.com. Here he is continuing to manufacture model reports so that you can continue to import cars.
Kevin's technical expertise is often sought by the British Independent Motor Traders Association (BIMTA), the motor trade, the general public and it has even been known for VOSA to contact him for information.
